**** Update on COVID-19 response *****
As of March 19th, 2020, Evans and Evans Counseling Services Inc. is prepared to do our part in support of social distancing during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) health crisis. First and foremost, our practitioners will be indefinitely working from their home offices and providing Telehealth services (e.g. a secure virtual conference call) to all of our clients. We are making every effort to continue to abide by our mental health professional ethics codes and the State of Illinois laws in providing our services to clients remotely.
Thus, we will be offering multiple options (Thera-Link, Google Duo and Zoom) for Telehealth platforms where the client and therapist are able to view and talk to each other while all information is encrypted and is HIPAA compliant. Additionally, we have developed an informed consent forms for our clients and in order for them to understand the new limits this may place on confidentiality, the fact that (by law) we will not videotape any sessions and we will request that our clients not do so as well.
In case of an emergency, established clients will be helped to call 911 and we will assure that those that we treat are receiving the help that they may need. All existing clients will be asked to provide an emergency phone contact/email. If someone visits our website or calls Evans & Evans Counseling Inc. and is in the midst of a crisis, we will advise the potential client to call 911.
Please call (773) 752-0531 or (312) 641-2819 if you need to obtain more information about our response to this crisis or to schedule an appointment.
We hope you all stay safe and resilient during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Drs. Robert and Helen Evans Ph.D.
